Photobiomodulation

What is Photobiomodulation?

Photobiomodulation therapy is defined as a form of light therapy that utilizes non-ionizing light sources, including lasers, light emitting diodes, and/or broadband light, in the visible (400 – 700 nm) and near-infrared (700 – 1100 nm) electromagnetic spectrum. It is a nonthermal process involving endogenous chromophores eliciting photophysical (i.e., linear and nonlinear) and photochemical events at various biological scales. This process results in beneficial therapeutic outcomes including but not limited to alleviating pain, immunomodulation, and promoting wound healing and tissue regeneration.

What Can Photobiomodulation Be Used For?

Photobiomodulation therapy (PBMT) has a large number of uses including, but not limited to:

  • Relief of joint pain & inflammation
  • Increase in collagen production
  • Improvement of skin clarity, tone & texture

FAQS

Amplified Wellness uses photobiomodulation as a simple and safe alternative to liposuction. Also referred to as LipoMelt, the treatment is 100% non-invasive and doesn’t cause any scarring or bruising. Clients will see a reduction in inches after their very first session; best results are achieved with multiple sessions over a 6 week period.

The unique red & near-infrared light emitted from the LipoMelt treatment pads cause the fat cell membranes to temporarily alter the permeability of the cell wall. This momentary change allows some of the fat contents to flow out to where it can then be processed by the body.

During the 20-minute relaxing treatment, you will lie down on a treatment bed, and red & near-infrared treatment pads will be strategically placed on your body, on the areas you wish to target. The treatment is so relaxing that most clients fall asleep!

After being released, the fat is broken down into free fatty acids and glycerol and enters the bloodstream. Once in the bloodstream, the fatty acids can be either used as fuel or quickly eliminated by the body.

Although photobiomodulation is very safe, there are the usual contraindications which include: Pregnancy, Active Cancer, Pacemaker, HIV/AIDs, and Hepatitis C.

There are no risks or side effects involved in using photobiomodulation. It is considered a safe alternative to invasive procedures such as traditional liposuction. The treatment is 100% non-invasive and does not cause any bruising or scarring.

The treatment can be used on essentially every part of the body where localized fat deposits exist that are resistant to diet and exercise. This includes the waist, hips, legs, thighs, and upper arms.

Clients undergoing treatment have noted a reduction in cellulite, as well as improvement in skin tone and texture.

The results can be very long-lasting as long as you are eating healthy. LipoMelt Photobiomodulation does not destroy fat cells, rather releases some of their contents. If your caloric intake is significantly higher than you require, your body will eventually store fat again. For this reason, we recommend a maintenance program of once or twice per month after the desired results are attained.

The regular cost of your first appointment is $316, however we currently have it on promotion for $99! Since best results are seen after multiple sessions, we have packages available that allow you to save per treatment.
